I love to write to you from my heart because it means we get to have ongoing and expansive conversations about life and living, and art and spirit and being COURAGEOUS and CURIOUS and PRESENT to our lives. I’ll share these little heart to heart letters in hope we can keep building a little community here. It’s meant so much to me to hear from many of you that these conversations and topics are as important to you as they are to me. So, thank you. I’ll touch on many things, from what the books I’m lost in, the art that keeps me gazing, the myths I’m revisiting, the spiritual threads I’m following, and really just how I’m trying to figure out this human/spiritual journey we’re all on. What speaks to out common lives.

I write a little bit about such things in my online column at The Financial Times, The Art of Life. But this newsletter gives me a chance to invite you into more reflection with me on seeking community, contemplative living, spirituality, interiority, and trying to show up with our fuller, truer selves. It takes so much courage some days doesn’t it? I think there’s such a fine line between the sacred and the ordinary in our lives. And lately I’ve been craving more reflection on how we live. How do we live well? How do we love well? How do we show up to the world and to each other with openness of heart, hand and spirit?

Sometimes I’ll share just a few lines, and sometimes I’ll share longer thoughts, and some links and recommendations for things that have got my own mind, soul and body stirring. Reflecting together can be such a generous and generative way to live. It’s both a beautiful and terrifying world. We’re not meant to travel it alone. Thank you for journeying with me, and with one another in this little growing community.

FAQ

How do I support your work and become a pledged community subscriber?

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m excited to be sharing more from this season, this place in my own life in which I am writing and speaking from my heart to yours, to build a community here with you. Some content is free for you!

But if you’d like to be part of the community that receives the full letters, all my posts and be able to join the comments and conversation section for thinking and talking together, then consider becoming a Pledged Community subscriber. We’re growing into a more intentional community where I’ll speak and write and ask you questions and listen to your answers. I hope you’ll step up and join us as we build an intimate community of readers where we can think deeper and question together.

Community subscribers will receive:

  • My essays.

  • Audio recordings.

  • Some days I’ll share an added reflection on the same theme from my Financial Times column, “The Art of Life”. I always have something more to say about those topics, and often because the topic stays on my mind, deeper reflections come to me after it’s already been published! So you’ll get those too.

  • A question or challenge for you to go back out into the world and ponder.

  • Threaded conversations with me, as I reply as best I can to your comments on one essay a month. That will be lovely to be in conversation together this way. I should say though, that to keep the energy here generous and reflective and compassionate I’ll thoughtfully discern if a comment needs to be deleted.

  • And maybe a surprise every now and then ;-)

You will find the options to subscribe and support my work when you click the subscribe button.
